Op.Dr. Hasan Tekin

He was born in 1971 in Seydişehir, Konya. He completed his primary and secondary education in Seydişehir and graduated from Konya Technical and Industrial Vocational High School, Department of Electrical and Electronics. He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (Çapa) in 1995. In 1999, he completed his specialist training in the Department of Ophthalmology at Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. His thesis focused on new perspectives in retinal surgery and on solutions for ocular complications of diabetes.

He has published a total of 12 national and international scientific articles. He has 26 years of clinical and surgical experience.

His medical and surgical areas of interest include:

1. Surgical and medical management of retinal diseases
2. Cataract surgery (paediatric and adult)
3. Medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma
4. Medical and surgical management of strabismus and paediatric eye disorders
5. Oculoplastic surgery
6. Management of uveitis and inflammatory eye diseases
7. Medical and surgical treatment of lacrimal duct disorders
8. Refractive surgery with excimer laser
9. Correction of myopia, astigmatism and hypermetropia with premium lenses (smart lenses/trifocal lenses)
10. Medical treatment of low-vision–related conditions
11. Management of neuro-ophthalmological diseases
12. Medical and surgical treatment of corneal diseases
13. Management of ocular complications of systemic diseases
14. Treatment of macular (yellow spot) diseases

He has significant surgical experience including: over 13,000 cataract surgeries, more than 1,500 strabismus surgeries, over 1,000 glaucoma surgeries, more than 2,000 retina surgeries, over 6,000 intravitreal injections for maculopathy, and more than 5,000 additional ocular surgical procedures.

He is a member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association (TOD) Istanbul Branch, TOD Retina-Vitreous Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He speaks English fluently and basic German.

He joined Lokman Hekim Esnaf Hospital in February 2025 as an Ophthalmology Specialist.
